About The Role

With a focus on cost efficiency and effectiveness across a significant cost base, this role is key in ensuring the financial controls and processes are in place; and the relevant information, performance delivery and commentaries are insightful and delivered on time.
 
KEY RESULT AREA / PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Working closely with many stakeholders across Operations and Finance functions.
  • Monitor and report on financial information for the specified areas to bring insight, challenge management to maximise performance and generate added value. This includes the identification of adverse movements, concerning trends and one-off items affecting the underlying financial performance.
  • Report into Head of Operations Finance to ensure consistent and valuable insight is provided on timely basis.
  • Support in calculating and setting up standard COGS for Brewing and Distilling across both UK and International sites.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial information and analysis to ensure that site performance monitoring and decision-making is of the highest standard
  • Support in Budgeting & Forecasting – working with the FPA team to feed in required inputs from the supply chain, challenging the business on their submissions to ensure that there is a challenging yet achievable budget/forecast
  • Help to manage working capital through evaluation and monitoring of stock controls and adjustments
  • Review, challenge and manage capital expenditure across the operational divisions to ensure the prudent application of capital and clear reporting of CAPEX plans versus what has been delivered
  •  Work with FP&A and IT to evaluate and improve current system processes and reporting. Focusing on automation of workload and reduction of time spent gathering and manipulating data that could be better spent on analysis.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFIC TRAINING
Fully qualified accountant – CA/CIMA/ACCA with appropriate post qualification experience
 
EXPERIENCE
  • Significant experience of finance in an FMCG/Manufacturing industry
  • Significant experience of business partnering with operational/non-finance teams
  • Experience gained in an organization or environment with a high degree of complexity and pace
  • Experience in setting up standard cost of product manufacturing and inventory accounting
KNOWLEDGE
  • Detailed understanding of Standard Costing – including overhead allocation and recovery.
  • Advanced knowledge of the brewing and distilling process
  • Understanding of beer duty and tax legislation in the UK – desirable.
SKILLS
  • Highly developed in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • An experienced Business Partner able to develop relationships across a site and a wide
  • stakeholder base
  •  Highly developed communication skills
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks while identifying and correcting errors to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can take the initiative.
